Formation
Founded in 2013 when Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC made a decision to introduce ladies football at the Old Road. Under the leadership of Ross Norgrove, the ladies started out in the West Wales Women and Girls League. In their first season, they won the league winning 16 out of the 20 games scoring 120 goals in the process.
The Early Years
The team continued to progress gaining promotion to the Welsh Premier Women's League for the 2014/15 season. Unfortunately, the side got relegated in the first season in the WPWL back to Welsh Women's league. This relegation was short-lived as the next season the side won the WWL and returned to the WPWL. The club remained in the WPWL until the league was rebranded to the Adran Premier when the club were demoted to the second tier the Adran South.
Adran South
The Reds finished their first season in the Adran South in second place behind winners Abergavenny Town. At the end of the season Manager Isaac Berry stepped down and Rhys James took over as First team manager.

In the 2022/2023 season the Reds won the Adran South title with an 11 point lead over second placed Cascade. The Reds however missed out on promotion after a 1-0 loss in the Promotion play-off to Wrexham. The Reds also lost to Cardiff City in that’s years Welsh Women’s Cup final.
Promotion

The 2023/2024 will be remembered as on the best in the clubs history. The Reds once again won the Adran South title. They completed the season with a 100% record including memorable win’s over Pontardawe Town (11-0) and Llanelli (6-0). The end of season saw the Reds return to Newtown to face Llandudno in the promotion play-off. After a goalless first half the Reds dominated the second scoring four to clinch a return to the top flight.
Top Flight Return

The 2024/2025 season started with three wins from three as the Reds took the league by storm. Big home wins over Wrexham and Cardiff Met made put the club at the top end of the table. With weather causing the loss of serval games the Red were left to play over the Christmas period with games against Swansea City and Cardiff City.
The team rose to the occasion and won both matches helping towards securing a place in the top four. During phase two the Reds game away to Wrexham was moved to Stok Cae Ras. With a large number of travelling supporters the Reds ran out 3-1 winners with goals from Jade Crofts, Lauar-May Walkley and Tija Richardson. The first season back saw the Reds finish in second place behind champions Cardiff City.
The club currently run two senior teams as well as an under 19's youth team and an under 17's team.
