Match Preview: Barry Town United

Tonight will see our final game of phase one of Adran Premier as Barry Town United visit Old Road.


At tonight's game Briton Ferry Llansawel will be showing our support to Football v Homophobia as part of their month of action. 




With a top four place already confirmed the Reds will be looking to ensure they not only gain three vital points but ensure that their unbeaten run of 28 league games at Old Road continues.  That run has seen 27 wins and one draw as Old Road has become a fortress. 


Barry Town United cannot break into the top four but a win would help them as they look to win the plate conference.  Stevie McCarthy-Campbells side have been bolstered with the recent return if Danielle Broadhurst who returns after a short spell at Swansea City.  Broadhurst scoring on her return to Barry in their 3-2 win over Cardiff Met. 


The Reds also have added to their squad with Jade Crofts joining from Cwmbran Celtic.  Crofts made her debut in last weeks Welsh Cup match and got her first goal for the Reds in the 88th minute to send thee tie to penalties. 


Elsewhere in the Adran Premier this week leaders Cardiff City beat Aberystwyth Town 2-0. Ffion Price and Mackenzie Olden with the goals for the Bluebirds in the first half.


Swansea City and Wrexham played a five goal thriller for the final spot in the top four. Ava Suckley put Wrexham ahead after 33 minutes but the Swans stuck back two minutes after thanks to Masie Miller. Six minutes before half time and Abbie Iddenden restored Wrexham's lead. Katy Hosford them levelled for Swansea not long into the second half. A draw would be enough for the Swans to claim the final spot but Wrexham won the game in added time when Keren Allen scored in the 90th minute.
