Reds share points with Linnets

Briton Ferry Llansawel were forced to settle for a draw at Jenner Park following a 0-0 draw with Barry Town United.

Ferry made more chances throughout the game than their host’s and home keeper Molly Arnesen was needed for multiple saves especially in the second half.  Maia Owen had openings to score as did Jade Crofts, who came on at half time.

The draw means the Adran Plate conference will go down to the final day of the season with Ferry leading Barry by a point.  Ferry will head to Pontypridd next week while Barry head to Aberystwyth.

Maia Owen made an early run into the box and was brought down with Ferry claiming a foul.  The ref though was not interested.

Ferry’s first chance came after a spell on pressure in the Barry box.  The ball sent out to the right for Meg Kearle who shot into the side netting.

Moments later and it was from the right again that The Reds had a chance.  Maia Owen being sent though and putting a shot across goal that just went past the far post.

Crofts did manage to get beyond the Barry defence and got a shot on goal but her effort did not have enough pace and a defender was able to get back and clear.

Lucy Powell hit a free kick from a long distance out which saw Arnesen needed to tip over the bar.

As the clock wound down Ferry pushed and pushed and Crofts was denied the winning goal as Arnesen mad another key save.  Crofts cutting inside a defender before firing a shot away.  Arnesen  getting a hand to the shot and able to turn onto the bar.
