Briton Ferry Llansawel beat Barry Town 3-1 at Old Road to move back into second place in the Adran Premier. It now means the Reds are unbeaten in 29 home league games at Old Road.
The first half saw Barry take the game to Ferry and have the better chances of the early exchanges. Courtney Young was needed to stop a couple of early Barry chances. Jade Crofts had a shot blocked for the Reds as chances were few. Alison Witts gave the Reds the lead in the 40th minute with a quality strike.

The Reds came out in the second half and took the game to Barry. The visitors were penned in their own half for long periods and keeper Molly Arnesen was forced into a few saves before the Reds made the breakthrough. It came in the 81st minute as sub Ella Smitham scored her fist goal for the first team. Maia Owen then added a third in 84th minute. The Linnets pulled one back with three minutes left but it wasn’t enough as Ferry win.
The Reds move back into second place to finish off phase one with a top of the table clash to come on Sunday as Cardiff City come to Old Road.
The visitors made a bright start and had an early chance as they broke though the Red defence. Courtney Young was off the line quickly to claim the ball before a shot came.
Barry again tried to play the ball though the middle but Brooke Llewellyn made the crucial tackle to clear the danger.
Barry the went close when the ball came to lucy Coles who was free in the box. Coles hit a low shot but Courtney Young got across to turn it away.

From a Jess Denscombe free kick the went to Walkley who played it into the run of Jade Crofts. Crofts cut inside and fired a shot away but it was blocked.
The visitors went close again from a corner that saw a header go just over the bar.
Maia Owen then made a good run into the box under pressure and was fouled as she delivered the ball into the box. Barry could only get the ball into Alison Witts who blasted a shot into the top corner.

The Reds made a brighter start to the second half and had two early corners. From the second the ball came out to Lowri Ridings who looped the ball towards the goal forced a good save from the Barry keeper.
Moments later and there weas a scrabble in the box as the Reds saw shot after shot blocked. Crofts and Brooke Llewellyn both tiring to find the net.
Witts then made a driving run though the middle and managed to get the ball to Walkley who tried a shot from distance but it was too close to the keeper.
Walkley again sent the ball wide to Owen who made her way towards the box. Owen sent the ball towards goal but the keeper did enough to stop her effort.
Ferry upped the pressure and pinned Barry in their box. Maia Owen tried to flick the ball in from a corner before Llewellyn saw her shot cleared off the line. The ball then went out to Meg Kearle who forced another save from the Barry keeper.
Owen then cut in from the left and fired a shot from the edge of the box but it was too close to the keeper.

Ferry second came on a counter attack after Barry sent all their players forward for a corner. Llwelyen cleared into Meg Kearle who played the ball across to Owen. Owen was forced out wide but she found Ella Smitham in space who looped the ball over the keeper with a well place shot.
Then it was three as Maia Owen tapped in at the back post after a good ball across the goal from Meg Kearle.
Barry got a goal back when the ball was sent though to Ingrid Aaland who poked the ball past Young.
Despite Barry’s late goal the Reds didn’t allow them to get back into the game and held out for the win that takes them into second.
