Two goals from Lucy Powell help Briton Ferry to a 3-1 win over Cardiff City at Old Road. The Reds recording their 26th consecutive league win at Old Road.
The first half saw the Reds pressure Cardiff and they created serval chances to score. The Reds took the lead after 18 minutes when Maia Owen tapped in from close range. Alison Witts forced a decent save from the Cardiff keeper that would have seen them double their lead. In added time though the Bluebirds levelled thanks to a Ffion Price goal.
The visitors started the second half with a renewed vigour and pushed the Reds deeper into their half. After absorbing the pressure the Reds were able to get on the front foot. Cardiff struggling to handle the Reds game plan. Lucy Powell adding the second goal after 59 minute restoring the Reds lead. Ferry won a throw deep into the Cardiff half and got the ball to Laura-May Walkley. Walkley sent the ball into the box but the City keeper claimed it.
Walley then set up Maia Owen on the edge of the box but she dragged her shot wide.Â
Alice Broadley made her way forward and played the ball into Walkley. Walkley sent the ball to the near post and it almost went in off a Cardiff player.
