Briton Ferry Llansawel are pleased to announce the signing of exciting forward Jade Crofts.  Jade joins from Adran South side Cwmbran Celtic and the forward will add to Rhys James’ attacking options as the Reds head in phase two of the Adran Premier.

“Really pleased to bring Jade into the club I think it’s a fantastic signing for the club and shows the ambition were looking at now moving forward.” Rhys James.

Crofts has been setting the Adran South alight of the past few seasons has already hit 20 goals in all competitions this season.  Last season she was second top scorer in the Adran South only beaten to top spot by Briton Ferry’s Alison Witts.

The Reds manager shared his thoughts on what Crofts can bring to the club,

“She brings brilliant quality to the forward line that we need and adds strength in depth for us.

“She’s electric, loves to ruin in behind causes defenders problems, caused us a lot of problems over the last few years so was always someone that was on our radar and we were keen to speak too.”

“She knows where the back of the net is and I think she has 20 goals in all comps this season.”

Jade herself is looking forward to the challenge of steeping up into the Premier league,

“Its really exciting it’s a big opportunity to play in tier one.

“It’s a big step up and I’m excited to challenge myself in the Premier League in a really competitive side.

“It’s a big step up for me personally, I’ve had a good couple of seasons but this is a big challenge for me but my main goal is to start scoring goals”

Jade move to the Reds is not only looking at the present but with an eye for the future as James explained,

“Everyone we bring into the club is going to be someone who we want to keep long term.

“We like to bring young players though and Jade’s only 25 so she has definitely got that future ahead of her.

“For us it was about getting her in January for phase two but also for next season as well she is someone who can lead this club and continue in the Premier League.

“When you’ve got a striker who naturally scores goals its going to benefit everyone.”

Crofts is familiar with Ferry having played against the Reds on many occasions but is now looking forward to being on the other side when at Old Road.

“Its tough its hard going the fans make a lot of noise and I’ really looking forward to being on the other side having them supporting us and being that 12th player.

“Everyone has seen what Briton Ferry have done in the last two or three years especially, they flew though tier two and to do what they’ve done in tier one to be in second place they have really made a name for themselves so I’m excited to have this opportunity with them.”

Welcome to Old Road Jade
