Crofts Double as Ferry beat Barry
Briton Ferry Llansawel made it three wins in a row in the Adran Premier with a 4-1 win over Barry Town United at Jenner Park.
Jade Crofts scored two goals inside the first 25 minutes as the Reds made a quick start to the game. A handball in the box allow Lucy Powell to make it three from the penalty spot. Maia Owen scored the Reds fourth on 43 minutes. Danielle Broadhurst got a goal back for Barry just before half time.
The win moves the Reds into fourth place in the Adran Premier with nine points, just three off the top two sides Cardiff City and Wrexham.
Ferry’s first chance came from a run from Ashley Griffiths who played the ball though into Jade Crofts who hit a shot over.

Crofts would not be denied for long and soon after put Ferry in front. A subline pass from Meg Kearle split the defence allow Crofts in to score.
Maia Owen won the Reds a corner which Meg Kearle swung into the near post. The Barry keeper pushed it away but it went straight to Crofts who hit her second goal.
Ashley Griffiths fed the ball, into Crofts who turned and played a pass into the box looking for the run of Maia Owen. Owen almost made but the keeper did well to deny her a chance.
Grace Evans cut inside the box from the right and forced a save from the keeper. The loose ball was cleared but only as far as Alice Broadley who tired from distance, her effort hitting the top of the net.
Ashley Griffiths went on run though the entire Barry midfield and hit a shot from the edge of the box. The keeper making a save to deny her.

Ferry’s pressure was causing all sorts of problems for the Barry defence and as they tried to scramble the ball away Alice Broadley’s cross was handled in the box. Lucy Powell stepped up and put the penalty past the keeper.
The Reds then caught Barry on the break as they left gaps in defence when attacking a corner. A long ball saw Crofts run though but the keeper was out quickly to deny her.
Ferry add goal number four before the half was out Grave Evans with a pin point delivery to Maia Owen. Owen volleying the ball first time past the keeper.
Barry got a goal back just before half time when Daniel Broadhurst scored from close range, despite Ferry supporters calls for a foul on the keeper.

Maia Owen had the first chance for the Reds in the second half. Owen cutting inside and curling a shot just wide.
Barry looking to break though the Ferry lines but Olivia Kett-White timed her tackle perfectly to deny them a chance.
Chelsea Cochrane went close for Barry with her effort at the far post going just wide.
Meg Kearle was brought down just outside the box. Meg Kearle took the kick and beat the wall only to see her shot crash off the bar.
Ferry won a corner as pressure in the box from Crofts and Walkley forced Broadhurst to put the ball out. Meg Kearle took the corner but it went into the side netting at the near post.
Lucy Attwood tired from distance but her effort was well wide of the goal.
Ferry has chances late as Brooke Llewellyn shot over then Laura-May Walkley hot an effort over the bar.
