Reds suffer defeat at Park Hall
Briton Ferry Llansawel lose on the road to The New Saints at Park Hall.
A thrilling first half ended with the host’s leading 3-2. In game which could decide who finishes in the top at the end of Phase one of the Adran Premier. Ferry took the lead early on when Jade Crofts struck after three minutes. Lexi Harrison levelled the game and three minutes later Freya Peyton put the Reds ahead again. The action kept coming as Caitlin Chapman levelled for the Saints again. Before the end of the half Lia Lewis put the home side ahead.
The second half saw less goal month action as both teams fought hard to take control of the game. Walkley-Witts and Jade Crofts with the best chances for the Reds but they were unable to find a third goal.
The Reds remain in fifth place in Adran Premier table but are now three points behind TNS in fourth.
Ferry made a dream start to the game taking the lead after just three minutes. Laura-May Walkley-Witts winning the ball in the middle and feeding it into the path of Jade Crofts. Crofts unleashed a shot into the top corner leaving the keeper little chance.

TNS worked the ball into the Ferry box and Caitlin Chapman had space to shoot. Chapman’s effort was straight at Courtney Young.
The Saints made another effort tot get into the box with a high ball into the Ferry area. Young though showed good hands to claim the ball.
TNS were level after 17 minutes after a good run though the defence by Lexi Harrison.
Ferry were back in front two minutes later thanks to Freya Peyton’s first senior goal. A ball into the box wasn’t dealt with and Peyton slid in to poke the ball in. Peyton becomes Ferry youngest ever scorer.
TNS levelled again shortly after with Caitlin Chapman hitting a shot past Young from inside the box.
TNS broke though but young pulled off a double save to deny them a goal.
Meg Kearle found Maia Owen in the box and the Ferry winger was able to turn and shoot but her effort was saved.
It was the home side who scored next to take the lead for the first time of the game. Lia Lewis turning in from close range from Maria Francis-Jones’ corner.

Meg Kearle forced a save from the TNS keeper when she won the ball on the edge of the box.
Kearle tried to send the ball over the keeper but she was able to claim.

Jade Crofts then tried to hit the target from distance but her effort was wide.
TNS then went close with an effort from the six yard box needed a strong head from Young to turn around the post.
TNS hit the crossbar when Maria Francis-Jones swung a free kick into the box from the right hand side.
A free kick for the Reds late on saw Walkley-Witts have a shot at goal but she was flagged for offside.
