Ferry Flashback:

March 9th 2025 was out last visit to Park Hall in last season Adran Premier.

Both sides were still fighting to catch Cardiff City in the title race and this victory for the Reds helped ensure their second place finish.

An own goal from Alice Broadley had given the home side the lead after 15 minutes.  Alison Witts then missed from the penalty spot, Ferry missing a chance to level.  On 67 minutes Lowri Ridings did draw them level heading in Jess Denscombe’s corner.

Ferry kept pushing and found a winning goal in the 85th minute.  Meg Kearle playing a ball into Laura-May Walkley-Witts to fire the Reds ahead.

Opposition Focus:

The New Saints and The Reds will be very familiar with each other having played six times last season and having already face off once this season.  Ferry took the win in this season meeting at The Renewable Centre Stadium.  Goals Ashley Griffiths, Maia Owen and Grace Evans helping the Reds to a 3-1 win.

TNS are currently in fourth place in the Adran Premier table with 12 points, the same as the Reds.  TNS have a better goal difference which keeps them ahead in the race for the top four.

Last season’s league meetings saw both teams with a win and two draws with TNS being victors in the two Cup meetings of the sides.  They overcame a two goal Reds lead in the Adran Trophy, which the Saints went on to win and a penalty shootout win in the Welsh cup after a trilling 2-2 draw.

This season the Saints have won four and lost four the same record as Ferry.  They secured a big win on the opening day beating Champions Cardiff City but that was followed by defeat to Ferry on game week two.  Wins over Wrexham, Pontypridd United and Barry Town have been enough to keep them in the top four.

Caitlin Chapman’s five league goals have helped TNS with Chapman bagging a brace in games against Wrexham and Pontypridd United.

The outcome of this will be hard to predict the history of this fixture shows that this will be a close and exciting match.
