After a long and careful selection process Murison's vision and experience stood out from other candidates.  His vison for the player pathway being something aligned to the clubs vision.

Mark shared why he was attracted to the role at Briton Ferry Llansawel saying  “I was really attracted to the role because of the ambition of the club and the direction it’s heading in.

“Having already been involved with the club through the academy, I’ve seen first-hand the quality of work being done and the strong foundations that are in place.

“There’s a really good youth setup here, which I believe can support the first team in the years to come.

“When I spoke to the people at the club, it was clear there’s a real desire to build something sustainable and competitive.

“With the combination of a strong pathway for young players and a committed environment, it felt like the right place for me to come in and help move things forward.”

Mark has built a strong and diverse coaching career throughout England and Wales.  This came after a playing career in Non-League football within England.

After taking his first steps in England Murison’s progression into senior football in Wales came at Haverfordwest in the Cymru Premier where he worked as Assistant Manager.   While in that role he played a important part of the club achieving promotion to the Cymru Premier and establishing the club in the top flight.

Mark also works as a Coach Developer and Coach Educator with the FAW.  In this role he has made a significant import supporting coaches form Wales and across the World achieve their own coaching qualifications.  He has also played a key role in raising in the standards of coach and shaping the next generation of coaches.

With co-running a football academy one of Murison’s passions is helping players into the professional game.  Having taken a number of players thought he programme and helping them to secure contracts with pro clubs he has shown his ability to identify and develop talent.

Speaking about the importance of having a clear and supported pathway he said,

“I believe in developing young players and giving them a clear pathway into the first team.

“One of my key aims is to create a seamless transition from youth to senior football, building on the structured pathway that’s already in place at the club.

“If players are good enough and show the right attitude, they’ll be given opportunities to exposed to the senior environment early.

“That experience is invaluable for their development but, it’s also about getting the balance right with experienced players so we can remain competitive while continuing to build for the future.”

Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies FC General Manager Ross Norgrove welcomed Murison to the club saying,

“Mark's vision for implementing a clear player pathway and ensuring that player progression is one of his key goals for the club.

“With his vison aligned to that of Briton Ferry Llansawel Mark was the clear choice for the role and I look forward to working with him"

Finally Mark outlined what Reds supporters can expect to see from his team.

“They can expect a team that works hard, is well organised, and plays with real intensity.

“We want to build on what’s already in place at the club, but add a real edge in terms of high energy and physicality, so we can impose ourselves in every game.

“I want us to play front-foot football, dominate territory as much as possible, and be difficult for teams to deal with both in and out of possession.

“We want to excite the fans and give them a team they can really get behind”
