Briton Ferry Llansawel will begin their Adran Trophy campaign this Sunday when Cwmbran Celtic come to The Renewable Centre Stadium in the first knock out round.

Ferry Flashback:
The last time Briton Ferry Llansawel faced Cwmbran Celtic was in March 2024. It was the final game of the Adran South season with Ferry already champions looking to completed a perfect season with a win.
Cwmbran Celtic knew that a win could see them finish in second place so there was still lots to play for.

The Reds did have one eye on the upcoming promotion play-off against Llandudno and the squad on the day saw many under 19’s step up to the first team.
The game was a tight affair but Meg Kearle gave the Reds the lead at half time. The second half was again tight and Cwmbran Celtic equalised though a penalty after Lowri Ridings handled in the box.
Celtic then pushed for a second and Jade Crofts had several chances to put them ahead. But deep into added time Alison Witts broke into the box to score and give the Reds the win.
Ferry finished the season with a perfect record of 12 wins from 12 games. Jade Crofts would later join the Reds and will be likely to face them this Sunday.

Opposition Focus:
Cwmbran Celtic are currently sitting in fourth spot of the Adran South after three games. They have four points and are two points behind Pure Swansea and Carmarthen Town in second and third respectively.

The qualify for the first knock out round of the Adran Trophy Cwmbran won group 1 with two win and a draw. Their opening game in the competition saw a 2-2 draw with Taffs Well followed by wins against Penybont and Cascade YC.
Celtic lost their opening Adran South game to Carmarthen despite leading though Katlin Smiths’ goal. They were able to bounce back in their next league fixture beating Llanelli 4-0. Lauren Boyd, Macey Morris and a brace from Fiona Anthony securing them the win. Their last match saw a dramatic late equaliser against Penybont from Cerys Pinchard to secure a draw.
Fiona Anthony will be one to watch for the Ferry team with the Cwmbran attacker having scored five goals so far this season. Anthony also has two assists making her goal contributions vitally important to Cwmbran Celtic’s play.
The last three meetings between the sides have all been won by Ferry who have managed 18 goals across the three games.
The match will also be the first time Jade Crofts will play against her former side after moving from Cwmbran Celtic to Briton Ferry Llansawel last season. Crofts enjoyed a hugely successful spell at Celtic scoring 35 goals in yellow. `
Despite the history Cwmbran Celtic always provide tough opposition and will pose a big test for Rhys Thomas’ side.
Stadium:
The Renewable Centre Stadium features Two Stands for seating. The Old Road stand has low level seating close to the pitch while the Macron Stand has higher level seating offering great views of the pitch.

There is a raised standing area next to the Macron Stand and standing is permitted behind the goal at the Bar Red end of the stadium.
There is an accessible seating area in the Old Road Stand for any supporters with mobility needs.
The Stadium is dog friendly but we do ask that all dogs are kept on a lead and owners clean any mess made.
Visiting supporters are welcome to use all areas of the stadium.
Bar Red will be open pre and post game for hot and cold drinks and snacks. For food Red and Fed will be open before and during the game. Any alcoholic beverages must be consumed in Bar Red and are not permitted in any other part of the Stadium.
