Briton Ferry Llansawel 4-0 Johnstown FC: Reds complete double

Briton Ferry Llansawel Under 17’s completed a double as they beat Johnstown 4-0 in the SWWGL League Cup Final.
The Reds started the game brightly on were ahead after just six minutes. Lucy Jones with the opening goal moments after seeing the keeper save another chance. Ferry took a two goal lead before the break thanks to a good finish from Matilda Matthews.
The second half saw the Reds look for a third goal but they had to wait until added time where they added two more. First Efa Gruffydd scored two minutes into added time but then Tegan Owen hit a stunning strike into the top corner with the last kick of the game.

Ferry started brightly and Harley Hodge sent a good ball though the Johnstown defence. Lucy Jones made a run looking to get onto it be the keeper got there first.
Jones then had a chance at goal when a poor header from the Johnstown defence allowed her a shot but the keeper saved.
The early pressure told after five minutes as Jones was played clear again. With just the keeper to beat she dinked the ball over the keeper into the net.
Johnstown then make a break forward down the right and swung the ball into the box but there had no one to connect with it.
Johnstown then had their first shot as Lowri Jones forced a save from Ferry keeper Charlotte Merry.
Tegan Owen sent Chloe Rudge away with a good ball though. Rudge advanced forward and tried to curl the ball into the corner but she was just wide.
Lucy Jones forced a save from the keeper when she turned her marker before firing a low shot at goal. Her effort was saved by the keeper.

With 25 minutes gone the Reds took a two goal lead. Matilda Matthews showing good footwork to create a shooting chance and then fired past the keeper.
A Reds corner found Gwen Phillips at the far post but she could only turn the ball wide of the goal.
Johnstown went close when Lowri Jones got past Merry and turned the ball towards goal. Ffion Davies however was able to clear the danger.

Ferry had an early chance when Harley Hodge had the ball in a pocket of space just outside the box. Her effort went straight at the keeper.
Lucy Jones made a run from the middle into the box. Jones fired shot across goal but the keeper saved it. The Reds tried to force another chance but after a scrabble in the box Johnstown cleared.
Ferry kept the pressure on and found Matilda Matthews free. Matthews hit a shot at goal and again the Johnstown keeper made a good save.
Matthews went close when she won the ball just outside the box. Matthews made her way towards goal and fired a shot which the keeper saved.

Johnstown tried to break though the Ferry defence but Meg Copeland was on hand to clear any danger away.
After a good spell of pressure Tegan Owen sent the ball to the right finding Efa Gruffydd. Gruffydd then sent a shot past the Johnstown keeper for 3-0.
Tegan Owen then scored the pick of the goals with the last action of the match. Owen unleashing a thunderous shot from 25 yards that rocketed into the top corner.
