Briton Ferry's three key matches of the Season

The Reds won the Genero Adran Leagues with a perfect 12 wins from 12 games. It was their second Adran South title as they won back-to-back titles. With the Adran North and South Playoff this Sunday we take a look at the three key games from the season.


Briton Ferry Llansawel 11-0 Pontardawe Town: 3/9/2023


The opening day of the season gave Ferry a chance to to show why they were defending champions. The side duly deliver as they trash their opponents 11-0.


A dream start in a Briton Ferry shirt for new signing Alison Witts who hit home five goals and three assists. Mollie Jones scored twice on a sunny day at Old Road with Georgia Howells getting a brace from the bench. Laura-May Walkley and Chelsea Deacon added to the goal tally in the perfect start for the Reds.



Cascade YC 0-6 Briton Ferry Llansawel: 8/10/2023


With a tough trip to their title rivals the Red produced an emphatic performance to take three points back to Old Road. It was a special day for Megan Kearle who scored her 100th goal for the club.

Alison Witts gave the Reds the lead 15 minutes in thanks to a good assist from Mollie Jones. Jones got the second goal before Laura-May Walkley made it three before half time. On the hour mark Kearle made 4-0 with her 100th goal. Witts added two late on to secure a big win the Adran South title race.




Cwmbran Celtic 1-2 Briton Ferry Llansawel: 21/3/2024


The final game of the season and a Cwmbran Celtic team in form looking to take second place with a win. The Reds without many key players brought in members of their under 19's squad. Olivia Kett-White starting with Ella Greenway, Meg Copeland and Catrin Edwards all getting time from the bench.


Meg Kearle gave the visitors the lead after 25 minutes in closely fought first half. Eloise Meaney equalised from the penalty spot and Celtic took the game to Ferry. Courtney Young called upon more than once to deny Celtic's in form forward Jade Crofts. With three minutes remaining Lowri Baker sent Alison Witts clear and she scored to give the Reds a 12th win of the season.



The Reds will now head to Newtown's Latham Park to face Adran North Champions Llandudno in a play off for promotion to the Adran Premier League.
