From the Manager:
After last weekends game with Cardiff City was postponed due to the weather Reds manager Rhys Thomas believes that the break came at a good time for his team.

“It’s allowed us to recover properly, and sharpen up a few areas in training, and really focus on this fixture.
“Preparation wise I’m happy but ultimately, games are won on the day.
“The players know the standards needed to win this game, and now it’s about delivering that once again on Sunday.”
The Reds have already met Barry twice this season, winning both games and the manager believes his side can come into this game with confidence.
“ We’ve played Barry twice this season and done well.
“With this being our third fixture against Barry in a couple months we are very familiar of them, and that’s allowed us to focus on playing with intensity, rather than having to adapt to a different tactical style.
“With the recent results against Barry we approach the game with confidence, but respect as well for the challenge that Barry will bring.
“If we play to our best level, I believe we win and progress to the next round.”
A win for Ferry will see them though to the semi finals of the Adran Trophy the same round they reached last season.
Ferry Flashback:
This week we look back at last season's quarter final victory over Aberystwyth Town. The Reds went though with a late winner, an own goal from a Meg Kearle free kick.

The game was far from a classic but saw two teams fighting for a semi-final place. Lucy Powell and Alison Witts went close for Ferry in the first half but Aber did find the net but their goal was disallowed for a foul on Courtney Young. A shot from long range initially saved but the loose ball turned in. The goal wouldn’t stand as Young have been fouled.
Ferry searched for a goal in the second half but met some resilient defending from the visitors. Witts struck a shot that went over the bar which was followed by Tija Richardson sending a shot wide. As time was running down Brooke Llewellyn had a shot blocked but Ferry were given a late free kick. Meg Kearle sent the ball into the box where Aber’s Josie Pugh turned into the net.
Ferry went on to the semi final where they lost 3-2 to The New Saints, who went on to win the competition.

Match Focus:

The match will be a repeat of the Reds last Adran Premier game which saw Ferry come out 3-0 winners. In what was a very competitive match goals from Brooke Llewellyn, Lucy Powell and Jade Crofts saw the Reds come out on top.
Last weekend saw Barry in Premier League action whilst Ferry’s game with Cardiff City was postponed due the adverse weather. Barry travelled to TNS and secured a 1-1 draw at Park Hall. Chelsea Cochrane put the Linnets ahead after 11 minutes but the visitors were pegged back in the 21st minute though Lexi Harrison.
Barry secure their quarter final place with a home win over Cascade YC in the first knockout round. Late first half goals from India Shanahan and Keira Harris were followed by a quick second half goal from Beca Thomas.

The Reds edged a thrilling knock out round tie 3-2 against Cwmbran Celtic. Meg Kearle gave the Reds the lead after 12 minutes but Celtic were level at the half hour mark. Cerys Shipley scoring for the visitors. Kearle added her second just a minute after as the Reds retook the lead. Just before half time Cwmbran’s Fiona Anthony missed a penalty and the chance to level.
Seven minutes into the second half and they were level as Cerys Pinchard equalised. Lucy Powell missed from the spot in the last minute and the game looked set for penalties but Lauren Payne found a way though to give Ferry the win.
The two sides have met twice this season in the league with Ferry winning both matches however Barry will know they can cause problems for the Reds and an exciting Cup game should be excepted.
