Show Racism the Red Card is an anti-racism educational charity. We work to challenge racism through empowering role models within communities, organisations, and sports to dismantle racism in society.
We do this by:
Providing high quality education and resources to educate young people
Embedding anti-racism ethos into policy and practice and educating adults
Investing in our organisation and people to continually and professionally develop colleagues to maximise our impact
During October, football clubs across Wales show their support for Show Racism the Red Card by delivering a match-day action demonstrating their stance on eradicating racism from the beautiful game. These actions act as a vehicle to deliver an anti-racism message to the community through the power of sport.
We hope you enjoy the game today. Please support the players in saying NO to racism. If you witness racism, report it to the steward or club official. To donate to Show Racism the Red Card, visit theredcard.org or the Just Giving page.
Further details about the campaign and how you and your club can be part of the Month of Action can be found by visiting the website www.theredcard.org or by contacting tom@theredcardwales.org.
Ferry Flashback: Briton Ferry Llansawel 2-0 Swansea City
On a windy and cold December day at Old Road another side tried to take points away from Briton Ferry. Swansea City came to Briton Ferry as the battle for the top four rolled into the Christmas break. A packed crowd saw their team deliver as the Reds won their 25th consecutive league match at their historic home ground.
Alison Witts set up Lucy Powell for Ferry’s first goal in the 25th minute as the Reds weathered Swansea’s early pressure. Witts then had her early second half goal ruled out as the Reds looked to take control. Witts then set up Laura-May Walkley-Witts to score but this was ruled out for offside. Alison Witts was not to be denied in the 88th minute as she made sure of the points with her late strike.
Opposition Focus:
Briton Ferry Llansawel will face Swansea on Sunday when they visit LLandarcy Academy of Sport. Swansea City have won the Adran Premier six times, joint top with Cardiff Met.
Last season saw a tough campaign for the Swans who finished in fifth place, not making the Championship group. This was the first time the club did not make the top four since the leagues restructure.
This season has seen Swansea start well with four wins from six matches. The Swans sit in third place on 12 points, just a point behind Cardiff City and Wrexham who both have 13. The Reds could go level on points with their West Wales rivals with a win. Swansea do a have a better goal difference.
That goal difference was bolstered in their last match last Sunday. The Swans hammered Pontypridd United 10-1 and saw seven different scorers. That match saw them with their biggest victory of the season since their opening day win over Barry Town.

Swansea legend Stacy John leads the way with goals this season with five, just one behind top scorer Mackenzie Olden and the same as Reds forward Jade Crofts.
Last season saw the Reds record their first win over Swansea with a win at Old Road before a draw at LLandarcy moved the Reds closer to securing a top four place ahead of the Swans.
Both clubs have seen changes in management since last season but with local bragging rights and important league points on the line this game could prove a massive moment in the season.
