Reds suffer defeat in capital
Briton Ferry Llansawel suffered defeat as they lost 5-1 to Cardiff City.
Cardiff City hit four goals in the first half at Cardiff International Sports Campus. Mackenzie Olden, Holly Smith, Mikayla Cook and Lily Billingham all getting on the scoresheet.Â

The second half saw a closer affair as the Reds were able to control, the ball more and created more chances. Kerry Walkett added a fifth for City but Ferry got one back thanks to Anya Grunewald’s first goal for the club.
Cardiff had the first shot of the game when Mikayla Cook tried from the edge of the area but her effort was blocked.
Cook then sent a good ball across the Ferry box but Brooke Llewelyn cleared. Shannan Evans went close with her long drive low shot going just wide of the post.
Cardiff’s early pressure told as Lily Billingham put a ball across goal form the left and found Mackenzie Olden who tucked the ball past Young.
The host’s then went two up in the 17 minute. Holly Smith turning in from Ffiona Barry’s corner.
Ferry had a chance as Jade Crofts broke though the City defence. With Chamberlain off her line Crofts went for goal but her effort was wide.
Cardiff added a third goal with Cook curling the ball post Young. Hannah Power found Cook on the edge of the box and Cook hit past Young.
The Reds then won a corner which Meg Kearle sent to into the box. Georgia Howells was there to meet it but sent her header wide.
Mackenzie Olden then broke thought the Ferry defence and hit a shot at goal but Young saved and turned the ball round the post. From the resulting corner Lilly Billingham added hosts fourth.

Ferry won ana early corner just after the second half started. Lucy Powell sent the ball into the box but Cardiff headed clear.

Young was needed again just before the hour to turn a low shot around the post.
Ffiona Barry tried a shot from outside the box but her effort dipped too late and went over the goal.
Young produced another save when Cook was played though. Cook fired a shot but Young was sharp and saved.
Cardiff added a fifth when Kerry Walkett turned in from Cook’s cross.
Meg Kearle sent the ball across the right to Manon Thomas. Thomas tried an effort from outside the box but it was straight at the keeper.
The Reds won a free kick to the left of the box, which Kearle sent into the six yard box. Anya Grunewald headed in from close range.Â
Cardiff’s Ffiona Barry was sent off for a poor tackle on Alice Broadley.
Jade Crofts sent a good ball into the box finding Maia Owen. Owen met the ball and tried to steer it past the keeper but a strong hand denied her.
Meg Kearle went close to a second for Ferry when her free kick needed punching away by the Cardiff keeper. The ball came out to Thomas who hit a shot just wide.
